Allen is an accomplished entrepreneur and business leader with broad experience in the technology and cloud computing industries. His ability to navigate the cultural and business dynamics of Japan has made him a sought-after advisor for global technology firms looking to grow in the market.
As Founder and CEO of SunBridge, Japan Cloud’s predecessor, Allen has been instrumental in bringing the world’s leading SaaS companies to Japan. Allen and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff created the Japan Cloud joint venture model on the proverbial “back of a napkin” in 1999. The model has proven a resounding success, with companies like Salesforce, SAP Concur and Marketo transforming the IT landscape in Japan.
Earlier in his career, Allen helped launch Oracle Japan, contributing to its development during a pivotal time for enterprise software adoption in Japan.
Allen is also active as a mentor and investor, helping startups and emerging companies develop innovative solutions while fostering strong cross-border collaborations. He is the Founding Partner of Global Hands-On VC (GHOVC), Chairman and CEO of Insight Technology, Inc.
Allen is also the Founder and President of the Miner Foundation. Allen's educational background includes a B.S./B.A. in Computer Science / Asian Studies from Brigham Young University.
